Don't waste 20 minutes watching a video.. get to the point in 1 minute! And if our 101's haven't covered what you're looking for, then lets us know via a comment. We can't promise we've covered it, but we can promise we haven't made you sit through 20 minutes of waffle to find out!
During lockdown, with the studio empty due to Covid, I decided to make use of the downtime by creating a series of short videos. Each one was under a minute-long, tailored for Instagram and TikTok—back when that was the time limit. The goal was to keep things clear, direct, and easily digestible—no fluff, no long intros. Just straight to the point, so you wouldn’t waste 20 minutes watching something unrelated while searching for a specific answer (something I find happens all too often).
This time around, I’ll be pairing each video with a blog post to dive deeper into the topic. That way, if you're interested in the more detailed or "boring" bits I couldn’t fit into a one-minute video, you’ll have the option to explore them further here.
Two years later, and everything has changed, and I'm not on about the fact that we're all allowed to hug each other again. Portrait shorts weren't a thing on YouTube, and nor were Instagram Reels, so apparently I was well ahead of the curve, or at least on the timings.. who would have thunk it!?. The original 101's were however recorded in landscape, so it was less than ideal, as portrait videos as the aforementioned, both have better organic reach than standard posts and video. Also, now with advancements in Ai, you no longer have to endure my voice-overs, and nor do I need to force friends to do voice-overs for me!
